This thing that I have a problem with, is rather perplexing since my laptop is actually pretty good for older games.

You see, I'm getting a tremendous amount of framerate lag. Judging by how slow it's going, It's around 5-10 frames per second. Something I've not had happen ever when I first started playing MSC a year ago. Now, when I got it last night it's been giving me nothing but grief (How much grief you say? I can run games like the stalker series on medium and it's marginally faster. About ten-fifteen frames faster). I've tried a few of the MSC settings for low-end computers and they're doing absolutely ass all.

Specs: Intel i5 quad core m 480 @2.67ghz per core
6gigs of ram
windows 7 (64bit)
integrated intel HD graphics card(I can run half-life on high settings with no slow downs.)

Or it could be the new update for half-life 1 that's got me buggered sideways.

If you played before with that same computer without an issue, it must be the bloom effect, press B when you go ingame so the bloom is turned off, that might do the trick, if not, it's your GPU then.

This is a new computer so, no. Last time I played this was before Christmas, on my old xp laptop.

Now if it's a GPU problem got any recommendations for a fix?

Yeah, the Intel GMA series of graphics accelerators never did handle MSC very well, and the February 2013 updates made things much worse by changing the OpenGL system. It maybe possible to replace the OpenGL system with DLL's from another game, as some have reportedly done, but if the low-end computer settings aren't helping (especially r_dynamic) then there's only so much you can hope for without replacing your GPU. (Preferably with a card offering near real-OpenGL hardware access, such as the nVidia series.)

Well, this makes me a very sad panda.

I don't always cry, but when I do, it's because valve breaks something.
