TF2 is awesome, I enjoy playing it... since I have it, too (got the orange box package, mainly for portal & HL2: Ep2).

About 90% of my motivation for buying the Orange Box is Half-Life 2: Episode Two, and the other 10% is for Portal.

Yes, I have both... I have taken the first step down the dark path of Source mods... TF2, sucks, balls. It's like a bunch of people who never played TFC, and played a hell of a lot of Counterstrike, decided to remake TFC for people who had never played an FPS before and children under 10. Respawn timers, last man standing mode, pidgeon holed classes, no grenades, supers-sluggish physics⦠These people obviously had no idea what TFC was about.
I think it should be renamed "Toy Story". Then I wouldn't complain.
FF is vastly superior. It's what TFC was meant to be. FF is the first time, in a damn long time, Iâve been able to play TF and enjoy it (Probably since the release of Q3F - which was good, but killed by Punk Buster issues).
...and frankly, if FF didn't rock so hard, I'd be in jail for commiting terrorist acts against Valve HQ by now. Can't believe I gave to the baby eating fund for TF2. ><

FF is much better if you enjoyed TFC.
TF2 is much better if you hated the best parts of TFC.
FF is a continuation of TFC
TF2 is a sequel of TFC
FF keeps the look of TFC
TF2 obtains some strange, comic book looking look.

Yeah, I've been playing FF for a few hours now and I actually enjoy it. I'm so good at being a Sniper. 
I prefer FF over TF2.

Yeah... ever heard the phrase "don't judge a book by its cover?". According to my friend its one of the best FPS games hes played in the last 4 years. I dunno about you guys, but I'm way way way more about the gameplay than the visuals of the game.

Longest I've manage to play TF2 for is 20 minutes.
Longest FF so far, is 6 hours.
The only thing I see TF2 could be good for is introducing young'ins to the concept of FPS. It's really just so dumbed down and sluggish I don't see how any experienced FPS'er could be interested. But meh.

I think its sad that you judge the game so harshly after only 20 mins.
Its like your not giving it a chance based on the graphic style, saying that because its not "gritty" that its not fun...
...that you won't associate with it because it doesn't make you feel "elite" or "pro". Granted it may also root from you Gothness :roll:
Graphically as an artist myself, I appreciate what they have done, in a world where so many games now push for "realisum" and all look brown and desaturated, I find it a fresh and new. Stylised is harder to do than realisum, you have to keep something consistant rather than just copy photos.
However, despite this, the graphics haven't made it extra fun to play. They are just a look at the end of it (something that most of you 14 year olds trying to be macho can't get over)
Gameplay wise, Ive not had so much fun in ages. Admittedly the respawn timer hacks me off a fair bit, but once ingame, its very very fun.
The one thing that makes it so fun for myself personally, is the TEAM WORK. Without the grenades, it puts the classes into their roles more. Rather than being a death defying medic, you play more a support role, healing a HW guy, and sharing the kills he gets giving you points. If you can do this long enough to one or more people, you get you build up an uber charge, which makes yourself and the person your healing invincible for 10 seconds, whilst you go in mincing the other team.
If you not a team player, I can understand why you'd not want this, but having played as a HW and a medic, supporting the other with friends, its been incredably hilarious and fun to do.
There are some classes that I haven't played much myself, such as the engineer, but thats because it dosen't suit my playing style, I like to be in the heat of battle or infiltrating, rather than defending.
However, of the ones Ive played, the Heavy Weapons, Medic, Demoman, Scout and Pyro are my favourites. The spy is also pretty sweet.
In summary, if you can't get over the graphics, fair enough, because you really are missing out on a fun TEAM experience. I found that FF was all "every man for himself" and that isn't what I want to play. If you don't have friends to play with, you despize fresh and original art styles then yeah, go play FF. We don't want you playing TF2 anyway

nice one yeah i was going to say about y they took out the grenades. In the commentry they said they took it out because of the following reasons:
When player is about to die they spam all their grenades out.
In some classes the grenades did more damege than their primary gun.
The spam at the start of the round was horrible
And as soon as they removed the grenades they said everone played better, and it was alot more fun without them. Just another thing, sudden death mode is good, specially if ur a spy or engineer
Finally engineers at bases help each other out so if ur sg blows up, u buildit again, they help u get it back up so its X2 the speed <3 teamwork
