I dont lag on bloodrose (and its much more bigger than the keep).
I only lag the most in skycastle and the keep

I also got lag problems in skycastle, and Helena btw, but not in the keep :?

skycastle is to be expected, far as i can tell its not optimized very much...and lots of open space to boot. and, there are a few areas where you might lag on the_keep...but it shouldn't be that bad from what i remember right now..

helu im working with the fixed version of The_keep and i can tell you ive fixed the boss room, and ive cut down the open area outside the castle,
all I have to do is to test it really hard, so it wont be anymore snicksnack om bossen som suger skata hela vägen till stockholm :wink:

yeah ive been wondering why the bosses dont give xp?
They SHOULD - but I know at one point I forgot there were three L's in skilllevel - can't remember if I fixed that before or after the MAY2007a release, but I'm hazarding a guess, after.

The XP value varies with the bandit boss type, ranges from 400-700.

Good news is that, thanks to lord K, I now have an editor with a syntax coloring code specifically for MSC scripts, so I should make less stupid mistakes like that.

actually yea i was able to kill things till the boss so it wasnt to bad i just couldnt do it alone .

Fixed map status:::...!!!!

What im doing right now is making The_keep more lvl optimized, that means more elite bandits and the boss room is now fixed!

And I've cut the area outside the castle so its smaller.

I will release this new version tomorrow (May 5)

Also this is something to consider for any next map updates.

Instead of putting a gate at the boss room. You could instead put some type of wall that immediately appears after the boss is spawned.

Kind of like the wall that appears in ww3 when you fight sir geric, or the wall in bloodrose that appears after killing venevus. That way there is no way to exploit the map, and players will just get stuck if they try to block it.

That gate, at least when I designed the room, replaces itself with a func_wall_toggle after it closes (thus, it cannot be blocked). Suspect the wall didn't make it in the translation.

There was func_wall_toggle, but it wasn't activated by the multi_manager. :?

BTW is the boss chamber archers have a player clip?
I tried getting there whit the help of the good old hammer head (yeah hes old alredy :|)
Hes too dull to throw me in the window so i didnt get in there.
Also, the lagg on the map wasent actually the map, it was the host :|
Warning for Thothie: Hammer head did the Olimpix too... we didnt allow him to do it long enough however, he seems to get back to normal when someone hits him, but continues to run around when the target dies.
All other exploits were fixed and...well...some people got dissapointed >.<
The map became harder and...well...some people got dissapointed also >.>

Meh, I must have killed a thousand bosses testing stuff over the past few days, so whatever this thing is, it's multiplayer only. Will make it very hard to debug. Still don't have an movie of it, if I did, I might have some idear of what he was *trying* to do. (anti-stuck, flank, or what)

No, its like this:
When there are no players in range or attacking the boss he starts to run into random places untill he bumps into a brush, then he starts running into another direction and so on. when u hit him he will react and fight back, when you die he continues to run around.
As for Atholos situation he was just running around but however he would bump into the same brush point and then continue on to another untill he makes a "lap"

Hmmm... That SOUNDS like the standard wander procedure, but he should stop doing it when he acquires a target - he should also be walking when he's in that mode.

god damn this sucks :( now i cant solo that map [but die lots of times] plus people are freaks who say "u no halp u no geet itemz" so im never getting it until im the right lvl which will take foreever D:

wtf's a res file plus me and another person just killed xaron.. or something w/e but took a while but had a good strategy so we killed him :D
