Weird lag issues with CoD4.

So here's the thing. When I boot my computer and launch CoD4 multiplayer it takes ages for it to finally get to the main menu, also, everything is fine. However, if I then quit the game and launch it again, it takes few seconds for it to get to the main menu and I get massive fps lag both in the menu and in the actual game. I suspect it has something to do with the game not shutting down properly. I've downloaded the latest video drivers and stuff.

Specs:
Windows XP 32-bit
ASUS P5B-<something> (mother board)
Intel Core2Duo E6600 2.40 GHz
2 GB RAM @ 668 MHz
nVidia GeForce 8800GTS 320mb

Did you check to see if the program was still running in Task Manager? (not applications, processes.)

Little off topic but I am very addicted to the PS3 version of this game. I just hit lvl 55 (first time around). Got my golden D Eagle and working on my golden AK.

I have the golden draganov on 360, working on AK on PC version. Don't see why people say its such an awesome FPS though.

Well, Shurik3n, that is because:
1) The amosphere is amazing.
2) Their copy doesn't bug when they relaunch it for som reason, ultimately making them have to reboot their PC to get it to work. >_>

You guys should really try playing Crysis its an awesome HD game. Customize your weapons in combat. Suit powers such as Max Speed (Super Sprint powers), Max Power (less recoil and better jumping), Max Defense (stops damage but drains suit power), and Cloak (self explainatory). Runs for Windows XP sp2 and Windows Vista. CoD4 is a really good FPS game and great gameplay but i got bored of it after awhile. I was only in the 20's lol might start on it again.

I am going to take a guess here and say that you didn't play the singleplayer

I did, on veteran, with the PC version. Beat it in about 5 hours and it just reminded me how short every recent game I've played is.

The zero gravity part in Crysis may have been short but it felt like it took ages. :roll:

I used to be addicted to CoD4. I got too lv55 in under twodays XD <--- no life (Pc ofc) I managed to get up to 151st biggest Kill Streaks for it, max kill streak for CoD4 buy some korean guy is 350 or something, my best 150

QFT. I couldn't imagine playing it on a lesser setting, it must be incredibly boring.

the higher difficulties on COD4 piss me off because it just becomes a grenade toss fest (as if millions of dollars of surplus grenades were spent in the enemy's munitions for no reason at all)

also i noticed almost no difficulty change between easy and delta on crysis, other than in delta they speak korean...like they should have throughout all the difficulties >_> i thought it was an overall amazing game and replayed it about 4 times (i dont think any game may ever beat my halflife replays, something around 100 im sure)

oh and my pc lags whenever someone calls an airstrike in multiplayer on COD4, and its so annoying that i just quit the game. the rest of the game runs smooth as silk though

CoD4 is the easiest game in the entire world -_- Completed on wasy in under an hour, veteran in under 2. CoD5 is gonna blow!!!!!! MAde by the same people as CoD3 (Which sucked imo) and its back to WW. <---- ( I believe so anyway)
