Same thing as stoned, was doing a lodagond run (just started lodagond-2) when it wouldn't load my character, I hit escape to quit and my hud was green so I just killed MS with Task Manager. When I rejoined I tried the character in slot 1, same thing, my characters where brought down to 5 hp with 0 in every skill.

PS: Used "View Server Info" while I was in a server with my 5 hp character and it said I still had my old hp.

What is causing this increase in character mishaps?

Rate seems about the same - thing just got a 4 in 1. Generally it hits everyone on the server at the time.

Still no clue as to the exact cause, though some other fun issues with undocumented HLDS updates came up recently.
