Nah, keep it.

It's a piece of wood nailed to a longer piece of wood. Deal with it, crosses were around before Christianity.

yes, in our world - this is not our world. this is a fantasy world, and maps in it should remain within that fantasy setting -=insert 'slippery slope' argument relating letting the cross into the game to letting spaceships into the game=-

I'd really like to know the Felewyn symbol, too.

Crosses were around, but not as holy symbols. More as, oh I don't know, torture devices? In anycase, as I said, I want it changed ALSO because I want Loreldian symbols.

Stop posting backwards. It does nothing but annoy us. And as I said, I care mainly for having Loreldian temples because there's a lack of them.

You also realize that you are the only one dead set in wanting the cross to stay, don't you?

Why would a chapel in the MS world have "a piece of wood nailed to a longer piece of wood"? I want to hear your reason for this, and not "just leave it/it is fine/deal with it/suk cawk/etc.

tehrilez, why are you putting so much effort into keeping something the same when you claim you don't care either way? This isn't a war between religion, it's about creating a new world, not animating this one.

chapel = any religion.

I don't think tehrilez is "dead set" in making our world connected to MS:C, I think he's dead set on the map getting finished.

I just want to bring this up, how many things can we find in MS:C that are also here, in our world, on Earth, 2007 and all previous years. Does seeing a house with lanterns lighting it distract you from the game? What about the city hall in gatecity? Kuroneko's gratutious kitties strewn throughout his maps? I believe an anime kitten posted on a wall in a town beseiged by orcs could be somewhat out-of-place... /rant

To be honest, I'm not even sure where I'm going with this.

Lanterns are something that any world can come up with. BC torture/execution devices becoming religious symbols.. Well, that's a one in a million idea ;-) It's just one of those things that's too much like our world.

I love leaving gaping flaws in my stupidly sound logic :)
But I'll make them smaller next time. Other than that, all I have to say is, "GJ on the map CSS!"

Thanks, and just to clarify, the map is finished, and its going to be put in next months update.

Once again, the only reason the cross is there is to go along with this light texture:

cathedral30005zq6.jpg

Surely I'm not the first to use this texture, right?

I think its safe to say that as Christianity is such a huge thing, it will have influenced people so that they know what it represents.

As such its symbolisum is instantly recognisable.

If you wanted to create a new logo to represent religion in MSC, your more than welcome, or if someone suggests it. However equally it will need to be a symbol thats easy to associate with religion, which in turn will lead to a symbol that is stereo typed in some way :)

How about this?

<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb104/PSGcoder/Bird.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

Let the benevolent religion of Shadism (Sadism XD) sweep you off your feet, lift you up to the sky,...and promptly drop you 5000ft into the swirling abyss! Muwhahahahaaaaa! DIE, YOU WORTHLESS HUMAN PAWNS!

Ok, so how does that sound? I'm sure somebody could come up with a better description than that but...then again, I'm not really trying! ;)

I believe the Crow is a Viking symbol, not sure what it represents in Norse though, probably a God of some kind

In Norse mythology that would be Fate and Memory - Odin's pet crows... But while Crow's and Ravens show up in millions of religions, they aren't prominent in any main-stream religions today, so it wouldn't much matter.

At least the proportions are wrong in the texture cross, and at least the texture isn’t your own artwork. Ya've that excuse there - not so much so in the huge glass cross you built nearby. ;)

I think I’m going to have to put the quality control hammer down on this. This is the last map I’ll accept for MSC 1.1 with a cross in it. No large pane windows of glass, no bio-radiation trash cans, no HL1 bookshelf prefabs, and no name-brand logos (religious or otherwise) in MSC, plzktnx.
