You should definitely add some secrets to your map. I'm planning at least three secret areas (as in: hidden chest with gold or something similar) and two hidden areas (as in: room that shows my name in huge letters or something) for each of my upcoming maps.

Secrets are fun :mrgreen:

Okays... I ran through what'll probably be the final beta of this map...

I dunno if I have treasure worthy of it. :| It's hard! I hereby entitle it "The Map of Drunken Fighting" ( People are going to HATE you. ;) )

The only thing I could think of that actually needs fixing is that one monsterclip we discussed.

I dunno if you should advertise this as a mid-level map though - unless you have like a group of ten level 25's - then ya might be okay. Even with lightning resistance, it's pretty rough - and I only know that cuz I can cheat to get it. ;) (BTW - It's not the number of monster lives, its the number of monsters in each area).

Not saying you have to change it, mind you, just saying ya may wish to change the description.

The lightning skeles all fired at once (I guess $rand(15,20) is not as random as it should be) and I suspect this would be hell on the server - so I've fixed that by making they only fire if they have direct LOS. They still fire in synchronous on occasion but not so often. Similarly fixed the bit where your archers kept firing at crap they couldn't see.

The Sorc fight was actually fun IMO - maybe you can stick another one of those in somewhere (accross from the boss chamber the second time round?)

One MAJOR (read: pain in the butt) change I might suggest is to axe the torch sprites/lights in favor of crystaline light textures (I dunno if you know how to use ~light textures). It'd cut down on the edicts a lot - which is important as I suspect this map will take forever and a half to carve through.

I'd still say cut that guy's speech short and let them at the crystal early, but then again, you're going to be spending so much time on this map, that 1 minute intro doesn't seem so long afterwards.

So...

Before I release the betapack, I need at least 3 new lightning items for this. Crow's ice ladies, and Crow's final Maldora (or at least a good placeholder for him), and debug the artifact chest system. 4am now... Hmmm Caffeine time...

EDIT: Also, didn't FER fix the hands on the lightning rod? Does that mean it's good to go?

I was thinking of being kind and giving a ring of lightning resistance. No model needed, and no need to switch out hats. ;)

Meh, everything is done except the Artifact chests and the new items... I've a feeling if I release a betapackage with no new items, I will be crucified... The aliens are trying to kidnap me now, so this may turn into a August 2nd patch. (Darn Cold Lady took longer to debug than I thought - came out neat though.)

Ya know, there was an all black Gazhelm in the p_helmets file...Unless you've plans for it ;)

The map is a little rough - but I think a lot of the problems can be fixed on the script end...

The chests are currently broken, and the map is unplayable under the current betapack (it's barely playable on the one I've running on my server), so we'll need a B patch to get this working right.

Other than that, my biggest worry is that it takes 3-4hrs to complete, and most servers won't stay up that long. I'm surprised mine did. (It almost didn't!) ;)

nice map! too easy and chest works fine for us but nothing good spawned.

Tis the problem.

They can only cast lighting one at a time. However, under the current patch there's a lag bug with them as they bunch up in the que for their turn to shoot.
