What do you have against Naruto? Yeah the English dubs suck, but they usually do.

Sadly, I have not yet joined the l337 ranks of Otaku, but I'm trying. Lady X is a bigger Otaku than I, surely. We both abhor just about any anime aired on Cartoon Network, or dubbed in English, and certainly anything that has a kid with a spiky DBZ style haircut is straight out. I've never managed to sit through an entire episode of Naturo.

Lady X hosts a montly anime meet where a bunch of us old skool goffs get together and watch some foreign import anime. Currently we're going through NANA which is some sort of lesbian lovestory of forbidden love between a goth and a preppy.

We tend to prefer anime that defies the genre. No robots, no high school kids, no martial arts. We liked Monster, Haibane Renmei, Millennium Actress, Paranoia Agent, and the ilk. Cheesy drama/thriller stuff.

Lady X has since corrected me though, and said that I am on t3h crack, for she told me that was Orochimaru, and I just forgot. My second theory is she was trying to make me look like the lead singer of DeathKlok on CN, who I kinda look like, sans the muscles.

Yeah Thothie I see what you mean. Have you tried Death Note? I found it rather enjoyable. It is hard to explain. It has so many twists and it really gets you to think at times. It is also darker than most anime. The main character is actually the villain, but throughout you actually want him to win. It isn't that long either, only 37 episodes.

Death Note is actually the other anime we're looking into. Sadly, we've kinda had a spoiler, as we saw the end of the live-action variant of the series at Expo. Awsome little flick though. 'specially with 60,000 anime fans screaming every time there's the slightest inuendo.

I've yet to determine how it will help me with MS:S developement.
