I'm seriously considering making a spiritual successor.

If there were an award for “Having Nothing To Apologize For,” you would win it.

You have passion and vision; you see something that is not, yet should be, and you step toward making it happen. That puts you at the higher end of the Great Bell Curve of People; my personal, anecdotal experiences suggest the vast majority are comfortable to remain simple complainers and consumers.

You just have to pair that passion and vision with discipline and all the “tools,” real or virtual, to make it happen. You’re already in school, so you’re already making progress in both of those, as far as I’m concerned.

I am sorry.
No need to be sorry. We can clearly see your heart's in the right place, it's just beating distressingly loud for our old ears. We're all pretty stoic around here, so fiery spirits sometimes make us think on how that energy might have produced so much more good, had it been more carefully directed. It's easy to mistake people here telling you to "take a breath" as them hammering on your dreams out of spite, but the reality is, most of us just want to see folks do the best they can do, rather than run after amorphous castles in the sky, until they run out of time to do what they could have done. It can be hard to express that intent, because, well, we've all seen it happen so tragically often, in the wider modding community, that it begins to hurt. So we chide you, not in order to discourage you, but to drive you to direct that heart to good use. For some of us would-be preachers of this gospel, sometimes too much venom gets involved, when we hope the end justifies the means, and others just react outright emotionally with the feeling of that same thought, coming off as snarling beasts. So no, we're sorry.

Just do what you can, so you'll later be able to do what you want. The other way around tends to lead to the aforementioned tragedy. We've all been there at one point or another.

I'm assuming @WHITE-LION is just confused, and thinks you took over MS:S from him.
Scratch what I said—upon review of chat logs, I guess I did say something akin to "I'll assume control of Master-Sword: Source" upon it's abandonment, but then I quickly danced over to Unity and never looked back. So here is my formal relinquishment of Master-Sword: Source, the Source Edition, for any who would don that mantle.
This is why I don't partake in texting much, you just can't get your whole intent across, and a partial intent is much like an unfinished sentence: one part might start a war, where as the whole would not. Something perhaps to keep in mind, next time you end up in text chat with a young lady (who shall not be named). Unlike her, however, we all know ya well enough around here, to know that it was never your intent to threaten to steal Mss's Haagendazs. So yer good with us.

...sometimes also Icarus's poor dad, watching his son fall to his death. :oldcry:

Well, beats being Issac, sorta.

Well, I'll just assume you're a well meaning professional jerk, and apologize on your behalf anyways.

In other words, we're sorry for him. ;)

Don't waste your limited energy! Repeating things 20 times to deaf ears is nothing to apologize for!

only kidding, really

For the next person wanting to make their own MS game. Try RPG Maker.

Looking at all these MS:w/e posts you can see 'better/different' engine = failure to launch, so maybe 'worse/simplistic = success?

Discord gonna shit on you regardless so don't worry about them being negative.

Yeah, it's true, if you're on your own and just wanna tell a lore story or such, that's a perfectly valid approach one is much more apt to see to conclusion. I think most people who start these things, however, are looking to create a more immersive experience though. (And self-training for a career in the industry.)

I sometimes think the easiest way to that end, however, would be a Skyrim total conversion or some such. Albeit, in addition to the multiplayer still not working quite right, in terms of your "engine" not being pulled out from under you, by the gods, cannot believe Bethesda still breaks that all the mods for that game every few months, apparently not understanding that mods are the only reason it's still played. (Well, that, and folks having kids, I suppose.)

I... Shoulda deleted Luci's post back there as a personal attack, but of course ya went and did the same thing. Suffice to say, don't egg the bully on, not good for either of you. There's a place for that. (and it's called "elementary school".)
