Which you said right after FER and Sabre said, and thus J-M said, just to be facetious. (So yeah, got that.)

Should let J-M re-write all our missing posts, with a memory like that. ;)

Again, you make my point. ;) It's quite possible, just not practical. Actually did it a few times in the past - just to nudge textures though.

You can do anything with text editing, but just as you can accurately describe a man molecule by molecule, it's much more practical to say, "There's Gabe Newell.", or use the modeling program. ;)

describing gabe newell molecule by molecule through a text interface

lol

i guess valve already modelled gabe with the boomer from l4d though

Two of the scriptnames in the spoilers are incorrect (they're listed as the same as another monster, bolded the duplicates), though it's not really an issue for anyone who isn't mapping.

Incorrect ones are bolded.

Spoilered for your convenience.

• monsters/beetle_fire [35] - Fire Beetle
- Spits fire, explodes.
• monsters/beetle_fire [40] - Giant Fire Beetle

and

• monsters/scarab_fire [20*] - Golden Scarab
- Burns, in addition to the usual synergistic chew damage.
• monsters/scarab_fire [20*] - Jade Scarab

End of spoiler.

Meh, I was thinking of putting out the new installer with a slightly modified optional patch that'd fix some of the minor bugs we have in MAY2010a (together with the tiny patch by itself, so those that already have MAY2010a wouldn't have to download a buttload of redundant stuffs), however, MiB keeps coming up with so much kewl stuff that'd require a client side patch, I'm wondering if I should just wait and put out on a mandatory JUL2010 patch and full installer, without the promised polearms, parry, and sorcville, and save those for AUG2010 - which is probably where they are going to wind up in any case.

Granted, one concern, is fundamental client changes tend to have issues that might be critical, while I figure the minor fixes I have now won't be very risky, and I'd rather be certain a new full installer would be relatively stable. Hrmm... What to do...

Perhaps you could release a 'beta' version of this full installer that did not connect to FN. If any issues came up they could be addressed without having to do any rollbacks. Once said issues were addressed you could release it as an official full installer.

ACTUAL UPDATE NEWS:

You can, as of this very moment, right now, delete your characters on FN! :D

So how did we fix this bug without putting out a new patch?

(or, more likely, we just had to patch the central server.)

- Bludgeons are being replaced by evil bald mole elves called Depth elves (Lore reasons)
- The endboss is becoming more difficult, and dialogue with ties in to mss will be added.
- A transition to a new map featuring the netherworld has been added (Littleaznboi may be taking care of that)
- Some bugs have been fixed.
- Hashalgath has his own unique model and his difficulty has been raised.
- The poison bludgeon is now a miniboss in his right. (Or her ...since its a female as an elf)
- Two new music tracks have been added to enhance the experience
- Possibly some new loot...But that depends on Thothie, i was hoping for some lost loreldian artifact in the end though.

Thats basically it.

Care to explain, in detail, this lore that will cause so much change? Furthermore, would you be okay with modifying your lore if there was unanimous disapproval of it amongst the community?

Well i was told by the Mss team that Bludgeons would not be accepted.
So i reworked the lore, and to be honest i prefer this version, the other one was sketchy, with nomadic bovines suddenly building a great marble city.

I think i wrote about Depth Elves somewhere.
Basically they were Torkalath elf warlocks and necromancer who inhabited Nashalrath after the original elven inhabitants were destroyed by Malgoriand during the First Great war(Also known as the Blood War)

After Felewyn destroyed Malgoriand, Nashalrath Sank into the depths of Eswen Mallan(sfor).
The Depth Elves adapted to their new environments.

Yeah Kinda...
I could also have called them mole elves but it sounds ridiculous.

Is the AUG2010 patch being bumped to September?
Jeeze. You just got so many folks hopes up. You're driving Humansteak insane, I'm sure. ;)

But sadly it r looking that way. All this crap with Sorc Villa is just taking for effing ever - talking like a dozen new items... Plus you got your polearms (adding another half-dozen) and a new parry system, and all sorts of new code end stuff, including a way to select arrows types via a key bind.

I woulda just put out a patch and waited until next month for Sorc Villa, but there's no other map ready to go out the door, and I can't bring myself to release a new patch with no new map - especially if I'm going to raise the level cap. MiB's added so much kewl stuff though. >_>

Next patch will come in the form of a full installer though, rather than a betapack.
