found it, surprisingly...it was a SOLID WALL WHICH WAS SQUARE, WHICH I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED AND REPLACED (with ctrl+Z)

supervisor refuses to talk until you whack him and run
lures and guards are both being hit with race_human, but guards will still try to kill the lures
