I know it takes you a while to make sure that I'm not trying to cheat, and I respect the fact that you even do rollbacks,

...but (here comes the but) this is nonsense:

it is to my understanding that the specific scroll you want is not all that hard to obtain.

You shouldn't just blatantly assume stuff like that.

Thothie has been witness to, by his server logs: 18 HC scroll aquisitions on his server alone... and unlike you, apparently, actually knows which NPC has the damned scroll.

Its only 18 because I'd assume most the players don't have the SC requirement and they are more often worried about Dorfgan.

I've personally been able to run the map solo with being able to keep any npc i chose alive.
It's not too hard to do, and any decent server should be able to run that map with 1 person on it if you don't overload it with things to track while the damn catapult blows up (which seems to be the culprit of most chrashes).
Honestly, the half hour Blasto takes looking into things, can easily be taken on your part (especially if you want to include the time you'd have to wait for him to find the request.) and just solo the map.

Reliable Channel Overflowed - Just need to lower my item count I think. I'm aware I have too many potions and arrows, and I'm happy to lose some.

Just in case though, it last worked 26 Feb at 22:30 GMT - we were changing maps quite often and a change from sfor to edana worked, but the change back to sfor 5 mins later failed.

I've managed to restore most of the items I lost in the rollback today, but want to point out that at one point, moving from mscave to daragoth (on the bloodstone quest) I DID get a "Reliable Channel Overflow" message again - reconnecting fixed it though. I'd dropped some of my items, and was at 54 items at the time.

Also, having looked at some other posts, I should point out that i'm carrying an "Expended Urudal Title Ring" atm - which may be the cause of problems according to viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5295 - any information on what I use the ring for so I can get this out of my inventory quickly would be helpful

I'd like to point out that without asking experienced players, an awful lot of quests and unique items are esentially "uncompleteable". There is so little help from the in-game NPC's and item descriptions that people have to get beforehand knowledge of what to do with these items.

Obviously the Bloodstone Ring quest is one of the worst - naturally I cannot point out specific examples, but even knowing how to begin (e.g. you pick up the first item for the first time with no prior knoweldege) is nigh on impossible to proceed with.

The use of this ring is another example - the only clue is that it's an "Urudal" ring. Maybe there should be an NPC that will "sell" hints on unique items you show them, as a stopgap measure to this problem.

I'm sure map-specific unique items (such as the one on Calruin2) that have no real worth only complicate this matter.

You did well with keeping spoilers out ;-)

A hint NPC may be a good idea, but that's up to Thothie. I think giving players direct hints may ruin it, though. Master Sword gets boring once you get out of the exploration stage. Just listen to all the high levels calling for free-roam and exploration maps ;-)

While I would agree with this, how often have you actually noticed players explore for these answers? I'm sure the majority (myself included ) just ask a higher leveled/more experienced player for the answers. With regards to someone exploring to solve the quests, 1 link in a certain quest is on a disconnected map - meaning players have to know of it, and it's name, to votemap their way there.

There's also issues with knowing what to say to certain NPC's. (such as Darrelin) Of course, if all options did show on the NPC Interact menu then that would be a non-issue.

The ring quest is the odd one out, though. Thothie intended for people to work together on it. He wanted the lowbies to find how to start it, but for the vets to know how to finish it (nothing new was added for the quest)

I am having a "connection overflowded" problem because i got too many items in my inventory, i cant get in any server even with the char_recover map, so i ask if its possible u could roll my character back to monday (day 2 Mars) 14:30 (2:30 pm)-last time it worked was also 2 Mars but at 4:00 pm i think.

Your rollback won't do anything, the load error reconnect is a result of the game not being able to find your steam ID. Giving you the temporary ID of STEAM_ID_PENDING or something silly to that matter. Considering rolling you back would mean rolling your actual steam ID and the steam ID the game sees you with are different.

Things to try:

Log out using the change user button located in your settings, then log back in again.

delelte the registry.blob file located in your steam main directory.

reinstall STEAM itself.

The error your getting is a direct result of steam not MS:C or the FN server.

It isn't any of those problems. When the map changed levels I clicked slot one char and right when it showed "LOAD_ERROR-RECONNECT" and it actually let me click it and I was in the game for a few seconds with this char then booted me out. I think my char was over written with this error one. All my games play fine, I can play MS:C, I can create a new character. But slot 1 is taken up by "LOAD_ERROR-RECONNECT".

Yes, than its a different story and you do need a rollback. That was supposed to have been fixed, but I guess not =/.
