I know exactly what J-M means by wallhack and it's fucking ridiculous. I can't even get to the stadium without being randomly hit for 45-90 dmg/sec and frozen for a long, long time.

Exactly, it's ****ing ridiculous that I sit at the spawn (for a few minutes, mind you) and get hit for 45*n dmg by that hacking reaver. Please, fix it. He really does wallhack. That you don't know about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

The uber reaver can kill you anywhere in the map using his lightning bolt attack thing, and if you approach his arena (if you're about halfway in the hallway to it) he can cast a blizzard on you.

What's up with that?

Dedicated server all the way. I haven't tried this map on a listenserver at all.

You walk into a random map and get hit by, say, a rat that's on the other side of the map...?

The only other wallhacking boss monster I know of is the polar bear god of the thundering plains. He also uses his hacker lightning beam to attack people at the spawn.

It might be the attack (the reaver hacks with his lightning shit, so does the bear god) so I suggest you fix it, Thothie.

Edit: In fact, even if I quit the game and come back, the reaver will still randomly attack me (yes, at any given time) without having seen me.

nononono i mean monsters that cast spells when i die, then respawn they still hit me and i see the effects around me, happens on wicardoven alot >< chain lighting happens the most

I think this could be fixable with some hard-code tweaks, but yeah, not easily, and not from the script side... But basically just need to add a flag to registered applyeffect's that says "Hey, if I die, this effect goes away." - there's a function for it scripted into the effects, but it doesn't work.

You forget Venevus and his wall of fire / volcano of h4x supreme. ;)

Meh, I dunno... I can't even get the uber reaver to hit me from the opposite side of the Arena.

He has a cone lightning attack that I think has no range cap. He's so large that he can't use LOS for it. I've stuck a range cap of 2048, but it may be large enough to reach the spawn still, if he’s shooting someone on the spawn side of the arena, and is near its edge.

The blizzard will, likely, reach a ways into the hallway. Sadly, script brush triggers don’t seem to work, so there’s no way to say “only freeze people in this area” – it’s “only freeze people in this radius” (in this case, a radius centering on the uber reaver every 60 seconds). Still, the storm’s range is 1024 – which shouldn’t even cover the entire arena if he’s on one end of it. Still, I suppose if he’s right up against the gate, it may reach the nearby spawn.

It may have been better to setup his storm as a separate entity so it could be placed. I could re-rig the script to cast it at a specific location if he’s on lodagond, but I think I’ve delayed this betapack too long already. I just need to fill these chests and ship this puppy off.

Surprised we have a rant and rave on this, yet not one comment of the sword that flies through solid objects to track you down and chop you up.

And about the sword... I'm assuming you mean Runegahr's sword: I tried to get to Runegahr twice but the Four Crash Mages messed up the server both times, so I haven't been bothered by the Wallhack Sword yet :wink:

There's some sort of bug involved with the XP display fix. (It used to read as error giving hands, but I narrowed down the debug to find where the actual problem occured - and it be there). - I think it has to do with Shurik3n's XP fix attempting to send XP to the client before the player is defined, but not sure. It doesn't, thus far, seem to be causing any issues, so I've not made any real crack at fixing the error, beyond narrowing down what it is.

As for the other two, those would be map errors. Got something with a master property that points to no proper master. This is also, not a big deal, just more console clutter.

Remind me to link up Lodagond-1 on the DL page and my server someday - only the gods knows when I'll actually get to play it.

Unzip package to folder, command prompt in folder, dir /o /b /s >lodagond-1.res + S&R off the directory tree = instant res file.
