I think more than one method to pass XP is being used (both new and old) - tis why the holding the button down thing works.

If we could dump the weapon registration and add a skill element to dodamage, I think we could fix it. Be a lot of script writing, but I think the main thing would be just to work up a new weapon base, and edit the weapons with DOT.

Might be harder to fix the arrows and bolts the same way though.

I think that exp is "remembered" for the weapon that's attacking at the time of the damage.

Skill used is stored, near as I can tell, into the attack damage structure - I think the weapon registration just keeps tagging every damage event associated with the player with the weapon's skill so long as the button is held - which is potentially sploity.

Meh, not going to be home the entire weekend, and most of the closing stuff for game update has to be done on the main puter... Not sure how I'm going to work that. I suppose it'll involve a lot of remote access - but that can be dicey at the place I'm going to be stuck at.

The update is going to be fairly minor (due to being home all of 7 days this month + steam down half that time), but it will include the release of two new maps (Ara and Chapel). So hopefully I can work this out remotely and have something ready for ya on the first.

Sounds good. Where was I with the discussion of Ara? Not around thats for sure.

Did something about that... Forgot to test it though... Will do. (edit: Yeah, that's fixed)

Other than that, this package looks ready to go, except... I really, really, REALLY, at least want to get some wolves into Thornlands this month, if nothing else (planning mass ripenting of maps, but not getting to it thus far.)

So, I may stick to the traditional "It's the 1st somewhere on the planet" release time, just to stick that in.

• Lighting Arrows - Arrows enchanted with lightning
• Armor of Bravery - This armor negates death penalties and provides a fair amount of protection from death to boot (Thank Belmont)
• Gladiator Armor - Nearly the protection of Knights for half the weight Plate, plus nifty spikes to boot. (Thank Gaz!)
• Helm of the Dead - First person to figure out what this does gets a cookie! (Thank Cerix)

New Mapper Toys
• New msmonster_XXXX/ms_npc property: hpmulti
- Multiplies the monsters base HP by this amount (if > 1)
• New msmonster_XXXX/ms_npc property: dmgmulti
- Multiplies the monster DMG by this amount (if > 1)
- These two combined with title allow you to more or less make your own l337 monsters
- eg. "Orc Commander", "Rabid Fangtooth", "Dreaded Soul Eater", etc. etc
- XP can be increased after FN approval
- FGD updated accordingly
• monsters/sorc_intro
- Something for Crow, will PM with a map demonstrating its use.

BugZ Squashed + Odder stuffz
• More tweakage to the rampage and level requirement systems
• Weapons you don't make the level requirement can still be swung, but damage/tohit% is reduced
• Blood Axe realigned (Thank Shuriken/Orochi)
• Urdual Shield on proper joint (Thank Shuriken/Orochi)
• Wild and untested stab at the overflow bug by MiB.

Map Changes
• Wolfies appear in Thornlands at night
- Just a few for now

New Supported Maps
• Ara - Use the Deralia boat to travel to the port town of Ara, which is having a slight orc invasion problem. (Mid level map by J):
ARA LINKY
• Chapel - Winding wilderness conceals a fallen temple of an unknown god. Very low level map, save for a hidden giant bat, but has enough secrets to keep the veterans exploring it for awhile too. (Chapel will eventually connect to Edana Sewers)
CHAPEL LINKY

...and about 10,000 other minor fixes I'm not bothering to mention.

Shortest changelog, evah, for the biggest patch ever: 40MB! :oldshock: - We REALLY need an updated main installer. :\

Wow, my map was released, this came as a surprise even to me. I hope it works because it hasn't been tested. Well, if something comes up we'll fix it. I wonder what Thothie put in the chests...

mental note: to make JM happy, remove all monsters except giant rats. ;)

Granted, this patch technically has an unlimited number of new monters, as with it you could, for instance, take Maldora, call him "J-M Bane", and multiply his HP and Damage by 20, or create any number of other truly heinous monsters, entirely from the map side. ;)

*sigh* I launched my server, but it looks as though I killed my system in the process (I'm remote, so I canna do anything about it from here, lest the puter restarts).

The FN server is running it without issue though, so I'm sure it's not related to the server, just had too much other stuff going and made it go smashie or otherwise lost my net.

:oops: I thought ya gave that to me with the intention of putting it up. :| - Oh well... It worked in a test run, insomuch as I could test it... Still think it's a tad tedius, but it seems to work. Only thing I added was a ship captain so you could go back to Deralia, and of course, the chest.

Good, the transition and the chests (I hope you meant "chests") were what needed to be added. I last played it through a long time ago so I don't know how tedious it is now, but if people think it's too tedious it can of course be changed. And I hope it's less tedious when you bash the orcs in a group instead of doing it alone.

Ahhh... Didn't have any new monster requests (which is unusual). I was going to make a Winter Wolf (giant freezie wolf) for Lodagond, but I've just not had access to a puter where I could test that very much lately. (Jeeze, I hope my home puter didn't go down in a lightning storm)

I was hoping to have a script diver worked up to releave you of that duty, but thus far the one I have doesn't work as well as your manual entires.

I still have that installer on my comp with all the latest patches and maps, although I need to updated it again.

I just can't seem to upload it without it freaking out in the middle of the upload. Got any suggestions for a place to upload large files?

This is the kind of thing you avoid releasing until it's fully fixed, lest it f*ck people over =| Besides, not like it can do really anything with yer item count on ;-)

I'm going to install this newest patch and see if my listenserver is fixed. If it is, I can test it out, hopefully. (All of this occuring AFTER work D:, but I do have the day off tomorrow)
