Yes, but what I took that to mean is that it fixed the negative miss chance. When in fact it just make miss chance worse overall.

It's the same as last month's hit chance in the B patch, it restores the old system.

Forgot to mention about another little bug, it dosent do anything big, simply prevents all ents from working aka doors dont open, mobs dont spawn, triggers dont work and so on. Only a server restart can fix it.

That's been a bug for a bit. I've only ever seen it happen on Sabre's server before, but yesterday it happened on Thothie's.

I really hate once in a blue moon impossible to duplicate bugs. >< I've yet to see that one. It maybe just an ancient one so rare that we've never seen it before, as I can't think of anything we've done that'd do anything like that.

...Then again, there's obviously some sort of leak somewhere, as shopkeepers keep getting inventory they aren't programmed for.

There's also the "One at a time please..." idle shopkeeper bug.

Why is it I never see this? :\ I hate it when NPC's decide to behave just because a developers around. Gotta sneak up on em somehow.

I'll stick some random conditionals in there and see if it helps.

Some people (who I will not name for they will be linched) seem to LIKE the bugged damage multipliers...

I just wanna get this damned patch out, so I r thinking, next month, maybe adding a server side option called ms_ultradamage, that'll just x5 the damage ratios on everything for such folks. (Amazed at how many there are.)

It's one thing when you're level 36-7+ and can dish out the damage to make up for the fact that you're taking 60-80 damage a hit with golden armor and ice shield, and also get good XP, but, seriously, do you want to fsck over all the newbies?

I know if the XP is good like it is now I would keep that cvar on. Was getting like 150+ from flayers and 300ish from brawlers :D.

how much do flayers and brawlers give when it is off?

I guess with the ramp you are able to get many more hits therefore the monster gives the most about of exp possible.

The XP ramp hasn't changed since August. It's working the same as it always has... It's the damage ramp that went fubar.

I was originally going to have the options for servers to choose what ramp level to play, but as Shuri pointed out, people would just turn the ramp to 10, and then start whoring on low-end monsters that, even if they do quad damage, are no threat. So no, it wouldn't ramp the XP beyond the standard player ramp.

All ramps cap out at 2.0x under the B patch anyways, save those defined by the mapper for individual monsters.

...oh yeah - did I mention the B patch is out?

SEP2007b BETA PUBLIC CHANGELOG:
• Fixed ultra-damage ramp bug
• More chests for next version of Ara
• Fixed door crash and monsterclip sploits on Chapel
• Fixed crashie uber reaver
• Fixed some bugs with the weapon restrictions
- For general secondary attacks, you must have weapon prof. req. + the special atk requirement (+2-+4)
• Fixed a bug where the Dark Sword's damage was not ranging

Ye download: http://www.thothie.com/ms

(updating front page now)

This is a server side patch only. Clients need not download. Only the maps and DLL's were actually updated, so I highly suggest using the fast-patch if you have SEP2007a installed (2mb download vs. 40mb download).

One thing that got me... This isn't a bug... If you guys no longer do rollbacks for "pulling a King Arthur," wouldn't it be wise to remove that from the readme? Unless you plan on putting back minor item loss rollbacks, but I don't see that happening soon. Funny, I just now read through the readme (usually checked what maps were FN enabled) and saw that and thought, "That's probobly gonna confuse some newbies."

I don't know if it would put a dent in the people who don't read the forums requesting rollbacks, though. :D

I'm hoping I can talk Blasto out of that, as there are rather easy ways around it, and it is a common problem.

I would like to make a policy, however, that you aren't allowed to ask for rollbacks for other people. There's far too many of those threads.

*friend playing MS:C gets angry at another friend in MS:C, and gets his Steam ID and posts*

My character is corrupt, and has been for several months now. Could you please roll him back till at least may of this year? I haven't posted this because I have been avoiding signing up for far too long.

Thanks.

Well, I'm sure if anyone noticed they've all of a sudden lost half a year of work they're going to post about it, and supply their steamID for a "rollback."

Though, this is the internet and lies can get pretty complicated.

I don't think any amount of convincing will get me to go back to the way we did it before. Besides if its just one item its not going to be hard to get back, if its say an uber rare then maybe I will look into doing it. However for simple items there isn't any need to do it.

as it stands I plan on doing research on anyone who requests a rollback to make sure what they tell me is true.

Rare items / whole packs only should be fine.

I dont't think it's kids trying to get back at other kids when they ask to roll back other characters, I picture conversations more long the lines of:

"Hey gimme yer novablade and roll back!"
"Noez, I h8's t3h forumz!"
"I'll go post a rollbackz for ya on the forums bro!"
"Umm.. Okaeyz."

Because we never once got someone asking to be restored after someone else rolled him back.

So many times some people posted a request for a rollback because they lost a rare item while trading... And we never see the other guy who was involved in the trade request too!
