Even I don't know...
There are two extremely EASY ways to make money less like the points on Who's Line is it Anyways!

1: Reimplement the pick pocket feature!!1!
This would totally make people care about their moneys.

2: Make weapons/spells that cost money to use!!!!!
Rather then going OOM, people will go OOC(out of cash) and will be a more costly version of mana!1!ONE!

This thread is a waste of time, I'm sorry, but I've grown tired of new theories for fixxing the economy. :?

Parody thread!!!1!

For every step you walk, you should pay 50 gold.
Every time you open a chest, you should pay a certain amount of gold (based on the type of chest and on the map it's in).
Every time you want to chat, you should pay 50 gold. This amount doubles if you're annoying, like Zun.
You must pay the game to merge your arrows and bolts.

There's a chest in mines that actually requires you to pay 50 gold to pull out an elven shortsword. I laugh every time. D:

Runeghar: I used to have problems with my gold supplies. Waging war on all life is tough! Shahaddar Orcs don't work for free, you know!

But then I found the Daragoth Credit Union! With DCU, funding a war is easy! Rates are low! Yes, with DCU, all my problems are solved. Start an account at DCU today!

Paid testimony by a washed-up warchief. Your results may vary. Rates start at 100% APR and increase from there based on our whims. DCU is not liable for any idiotic credit purchases, and will wring you for every last piece of gold you have. If gold cannot be provided, our gnomes will take the very items off your character as payment.

EDIT: Damn, I thought we found all of them >_>

ah fix economy to fix economy naturally we need to shift the agregrate demand curve to the right, and to do that we must increase gmscdp, and to do that we increase goverment spending, investment spending, consumption or net exports, I recommend exporting our well earned rat skins to other poor MMO's

I don't like hacky fixes like that. It's akin to using carve to cut holes ;-)

To fix the economy, we need an alcoholism skill! Drinking various alcoholic beverages will give you exp in the skill. Eventually you'll outgrow lower level alcoholic beverages, and won't be able to gain exp from those drinks, so you'll have to buy the higher end stuff. The skill will basically cap itself when you run out of drinks that give you exp.
Later an alcohol that requires a certain level of Alcoholism to drink and not die from alcohol poisoning can be added. And for all you martial artists out there: an alcohol that increases your martial arts damage while you're drunk (drunken kung fu).

Even I don't know...
Also, an mug that makes each point into alcoholism gives you 2% drunk resistance, so when you go to the drunkentemple you are resistant to their booz toss ability.
The mug will cost 1billion gold pieces.
Alcoholism should boost wisdom.

personally i still think its a bitch to gain gold in msc...

( you could change gold drops to humanoid only monsters ) or only have it from chests and selling specific items. ( trade skills )

When the economy actually gets reset, I'd like to move loot into more of a system like pelts - Monsters/chests give you items that you have to go sell, such as goblets, unwearable armor, etc. I've noticed that at lower levels, you're much more limited on how much money you can gain, as the best money makers are items that are heavy, thus the player can only get a few valuable items from a map before having to find somewhere to sell.

The economy doesn't move because players can't buy/sell to each other. Not that free trade is bad or anything, but money is entirely for NPCs not made for long term use. If I could sell items to others I would and I would buy them too!
PS the Northern Mall is awesome. thx
