Playing on Bloodrose with the newest patch (The one for Gertenheld Forest) and resistances aren't fixed. They don't overlap anymore, but they don't turn off either. I was able to have Lightning Resistance, Fire Resistance, Poison Resistance, Ice Resistance and 70% stun resistance, even though what I had equipped did not give those bonuses. It wasn't just a display error either, I could resist any element regardless of what was equipped.

Using the same model (ie. your mini-spider model) - although I did think they were too big, I don't have a smaller one of that type.

I've not managed to be able to duplicate this so far. I'm hoping that maybe you are on an older patch server. I'll add a command called "listresist" you can use from either console or chat (or bind) that'll let you see a list of your resistances.

umm, thats not the minispider. in the msc folder there are only 4 new spider models, leaving the smallest one missing.

And the .Rar pfile contained all 5 of them. Still I could send it to you if you want to

Oh yeah I remember seeing that. Since their model was replaced, they are now huge (And it's so scarey seeing THAT many of them chasing me... I'm used to the baby ones).

Pic of what I said in my last post... All those resistances show upon respawn (I equipped my helmet to show that aslo has no effect on the other resistances).

I would post how I did it, but I won't so no one exploits. Thothie, if you want to know how I managed this, send a PM my way (Unless it's known about, then nevermind). I was on a server running the patch that's linked with Gertenheld_Forest.

I originally only had four... I assumed the one named "mini" was the baby spider. Recently you gave me another one just genericly named, which I assumed was the standard creepie crawly, non-spittie type. So there should now be 5 fer_spider models in the models/monsters folder. If mini ain't the mini spider, which is? ;)

...and yes, I'll need a PM 'splainin how ye did that.

Probably i forgot to send you the smallest one the first time (or the upload screwed), but the latest pack has all the spiders of all the sizes.

Suggestion: Make a mappers toy, that allow the models for monster to be scaled in size (dunno if it's possible). That way, we can have more monsters with the same amount of models. :roll:

Please completely remove the catapult explosion sprite & catapult wood gibs in old_helena, because Mikkel's server just crashed twice in a row because of this shit.

Would be, if Svencoop would hand us the source for how they do that. ;)

*sigh* Fine fine, I’ll take out the wood gib maker in the next patch. Thought we finally stabalized that map. :\

edit: Actually, I'm looking at it now, and it looks like the waves aren't eliminating right (There's like 24 orcs here :oldshock:)

Well, would be even better to have a catapult model itself, which im willing to try to make, just curious which sequences a catapult needs

Wind, fire, and roll (with an MX for move) ... oh, and die. If you want to get fancy, ye can stick on a damaged skin for various levels of "not dead yet".

I'm looking at this helena, and I'm tellin ya - it ain't just the catapults - indeed, it ain't even primarily the catapults. The waves aren't eliminating - thus there's no way you'll ever finish this map. By the end of it you'd have 48 active orcs of all shapes and sizes, plus a smattering of trolls and catas. I'm amazed you made it to the catas.

No! I've said there shouldn't be more than 12 orcs there several times, as you can't go very far over a dozen active NPC's before things get screwy. I guess I've not played since the full patch to notice this. (I got sick of the map back in JAN2008)

(slay 90 orcs to advance any single wave, save the chief)

Wave1:
7 Orc Warriors
4 Orc Archers
1 Orc Rangers
(Escort of up to 1 troll)

Wave2:
2 Orc Chargers
3 Blackhand Beserkers
4 Orc Rangers
1 Elite Sniper
(Escort of up to 3 trolls)

Wave3:
2 Orc Flayers
3 Orc Runners
4 Elite Snipers
1 Orc Assasin
(Escort of up to 3 - mix of: Ogre, Troll2, Troll Lobber)

Wave4:
8 Orc Stormers
2 Orc Blazers
1 Partridge in Pair Tree
(Escort of up to 2 ogres)

Wagons (total spawn, rather than type):
1 Orc Chief
4 Orc Guards
2 Orc Fire Shamans


Between Wave2 and 3, and again between wave3 and 4, there are two catapults, consiting of a Winder and a Shaman.

I've fixed this... Will get out in next patch as a ripent. Somehow I think the map got rolled back between JAN2008 and the MSC 1.11 release.

With mini patch we ran through lodagond (not b interim but gert_forest mini).

Only bugs noted were the transition from 2 to 3 doesn't work (didn't get to check 3 to 4 as mikkel forced it before I could check) and that Final Maldora did not trigger -.-.

Also exp was pretty much on par with lodagond-1 boosts, hope that is still true with B interm.

Should be better than that on the interim patch: x2 x3 x4 x5 for Lodagond 1-4, respectively

There was a screw up in some patch or other that gave x3 on Lodagond-1 and x2 on Gert. Forest, and maxed out on x3 for the rest of lodagond series. Said patch has been overwritten since then.

I don't think I'm going to the trouble of setting up a ripent patch for that one. ;)

However, if yer hosting a server, I have integrated the Helena map patch into the interim pack, but you'll have to run the batch file manually, cuz it doesn't have a full installer. I *may* have a full betapack out today, and if not, within the next three days.

This was the "pic of the month" for this patch… There’s mass irony, for I was going to entitle it “Look, we squashed some bugs!”

Now I’m all, “Wait, those spiders are too big – that IS a bug!” ><

That image is thus the epitome of this patch – it’s just been epic phayle. Good news is I think we’ve fixed all the new bugs we introduced (or will have by APR2008), and we have a bunch of good new maps, so maybe it’ll work out in the long run.

The Blood Drinker only follows the player with the highest server slot number (observed every time Ive played against Runegahr). It might start off towards any other player, but once it reaches him/her, it turns and goes towards previously mentioned player without even hitting the first target if he stands/sits still.

Mikkel hosted lodagond-4 with this patch:

and Maldora was still just standing there, you know, trying to act cool.

Edit: He also wasn't holding his fire axe (which Thraxis claims he should be holding).

This is the third time I got to Maldora with a bunch of people and he was just goofing around there. Only difference is that now it actually said "Maldora - Hostile" whereas it didn't say anything at all before.

Jeeze, he works fine on a test map, even if I spawn and slay his two Fragments first, ala Lodagond. I figure it must be something about the map itself, but I don't know what. I will have to test. :oldcry:

TBH, Maldora has been up and working since MAR2008a - don't think there've been any changes to him, just the map verification routine.

edit: Yeah, it is something to do with the map. Not Crow's fault, rather he's trying to do the intro specialized for his fragments due to the map name. Will fix momentarily. (WOULDA BEEN NICE TO HAVE THIS FINAL MAP TO TEST WITH BEFORE RELEASE THOUGH!) :p

Have been updated with that same patch.

Only reason I make new links is that most folks do not know how to clear their internet cache.

BTW - I *still* haven't seen the new Lodagond-4 Boss Chamber... I hope it's quite a bit bigger than the one I saw there originally, with some cover, and maybe an exit, as Maldora would be impossible in the original.

Yes, I heard about what's going on with Blood Drinker - seems to be part of my effort to stop it from "always tracking the same target" - will fix with full patch.
