Beta test #2 fairly successful. Cut short cause I had to leave.

I've determined its way too hard. Gonna lighten it up a bit.

@Thothie: If you could weaken the reaver a bit that would be great. Maybe make him stun you less, make him a lil slower, I dunno. Unless there is a trick to him I don't know, which there most likely is. We wernt that organzied about defeating him, prolly shoulda loaded up on frost resist pots and that sorta thing, but we're stuck with what our backups have ;]

Not to mention ramping prolly beafed him up quite a bit, had 6 people in there, including some random level one guy someone invited (lol)

He doesn't crash anymore which is amazing awsomeness.

The troll lobbers still dont have a deeath animation, though I can't remember if you said you fixed that or not. (useing turret version btw)

Still haveing trouble with the counter thing working, but thats something to fix on my end.

Progress shall be made!

I know its annoying, but the difficulty is much needed challenge.

We gotta strategize and such.

like for the first area.

Problem:
Too hard to kill masons when ice trolls pelt players.

Solution:
Have some characters kite big masons/kill the weak masons while a few players focus their resources to killing the ice trolls near the player spawn.

Once both trolls near entrance are slain, kill straggling weak masons, then gang bang the big masons while keeping the fight out of rear troll lobber range.

Also, I don't know if the edge of the castle teleporting or killing is a good thing.

with teleporting people can escape and kite the masons

with killing we can demon claw fest



I really like the map Crow =D (so did my random level 1 friend)
I wish more maps had such difficulty that to win you have to devise a careful strategy.

Yeah, that and the horrible arty...Best reward I've seen yet from that thing is a CL scroll, usually going to the third highest level cause the highest level needs an uber Potion of Forgetfulness. :roll:

mario wants a uber hard map which none of us can do but him, so he can get all the rewards and crap.

thothie, I'm having trouble getting the ms_npcscript "skeleton_wakeup_call" to work.

I did it exactly as your tutorial has it done, but in the console it says the call to the script fails or something of that nature.

You spawn a ms_monster with the scriptfile: "monsters/skels_wakeup" - the ms_npcscript method only works on individual skeletons - ye can't use it on multiple monsters due to the limitations of ms_npcscript.

Foutpost, is the most popular map of all time, five times over.

Tricky to get monsters to adjust their fire beyond a certain range. In some cases (such as Foutpost) it's just plain not possible, because the ceiling is too low for them to throw their projectiles much further with the arch.

Yet again, I'm joking :mrgreen:

I like foutpost, but I just had to pretend I agreed with Mario on the map being so pathetic because you can snipe the lobbers from a distance. And in fact, I have no problem whatsoever with sniping the lobbers from a distance.

Still, I'd prefer it if our projectile tossers were a bit smarter. Fire shamans are the worst. They'll often keep throwing when they've no way to hit... Should fix that, amongst other things.

The lobbers on Foutpost do at least do their job of stopping you from camping the spawn. It might be a bit better if there were lobbers on both sides of the canyon and maybe further in. But tis true, even if they could adjust their fire proper, they'd have to throw in pretty much a straight line to nail you down from the battlements, and that'd look rather unnatural.

i meant to direct my "patheticness" at how lame players look sitting on a platform near the edge of the map with only room for like 3 people to win.

and lawl at Weissber...
If there ever was an uber hard map... TRUST ME, I would never be able to beat it solo to get the rewards.

...but i'm sure Ryan will get all of that loot SOMEHOW


and for foutpost:

Would it be possible to put the trolls on the canyon the ones that can run AND lob?

and maybe extend their platform closer to the wall?

As for the players camping the enemy spawn... Would it be possible to have the enemies slide off a slope down to players instead of materializing atop of them?

The strategy to win would be to keep the fight closer to the enemy "spawn" or at least distract the troll lobbers so they can't annihilate the wall and the rest of the outpost.
