By nice, I think he means normal and like a real town. I think (possible) he means that it's now like, all run down, covered in blood and vines or something
we managed to trap slithar and pummel him into oblivion BEFORE he could teleport upon reaching half health.
the lure_tele i had for the first piece is now a teleport only...will change back if thothie makes slithar invulnerable upon reaching half (until recieving the resume, of course)
Wow... Actually, I suppose it's not that hard to do 1500 damage in 10 seconds.
I think I can rig him up to be invulnerable on half... Should be fine - so long as you don't do 1500 in a single blow...
...while this is not *currently* possible, who knows what the future may bring (very, distant, future, I hope).
Might be better off with the pure teleport anyways - I've not seen the map yet, but it seems more likely to be "clean".
I'd hate to tell ya this - but that's one of those you tend to get from carving something several hundred brushes later. If yer lucky, you can just delete the last few dozen brushes you made, but beyond that, I think you are SOL for further expansion.
Only other cause shows up in the Hammer problem report list - generally as texture not perpendicular to face.
If yer *really* lucky, you might wind up like the original Highlands, and only get this error on listen servers, but not on dedicated servers.
you may have fit a texture on a thin door or something else without deselecting the thin sides. i noticed you did that in foutpost with the door to the treasure. this page tells you info about lots of different errors and is always a good reference http://www.slackiller.com/tommy14/errors.htm#badsurface
nix that - env_beam wont work no matter what i do...think i'm just missing the sprite, but i cant find the sprite ANYWHERE! grrr....maybe if i install half life from the CD...i'll keep trying to fix that tomorow...
other than that, just gotta change around some bears (accidentally made brown bears instead of black bears), add a little breaking bit at flesheater, shut the doors (after thothie fixes findlebind), ask thothie what keyhole the key findlebind gives as he's dying goes to and what event it fires when it gets the key, add music, and add some form of wildlife...in select areas...(and bludgeon markers, since Gaz has yet to show that model)
there might be some other things i'm forgetting, but i'm sure they're all minor.
Slithar does take holy damage, but his multiplier is low. He's only an apprentice, after all. Venevus takes more, but has a counter-attack.
(Still, I dunno what is up with these insane high damage counts, so I r worried.)
Findlebind not taking the bear claw anymore eh? Hmmm... (Okies, I think I see what's causing that...)
Findlebind drops the blood key (key_red) for Slithar.
He drops the emerald key (key_green) for Venevus.
So you want " other/keyhole_red " and " other/keyhole_green " respectively.
If you'd rather, we can do those exclusively by map events instead. He already fires "findlebind_died" after finding a worthy player to face Venevus. Currently he doesn't fire anything for Slithar champions, but we can change that.
The default env_beam sprite is one from the Valve directory, I believe, it should work... But to be sure, take a look at the env_beam's in the Calruin2 tutorial. I know too many env_beam's will make MSC go smashie.
alright, beams have started working...bears are replaced...
thothie - does findlebind fire an event when he tells players about the bear? if so - i'll need to set it up so it only spawns when he tells them. (and it'd be better if he did)
