In the map keledrosprelude2, where would the transition be? Knowledge of this would help me pick textures and mold the landscape near the spawn point to smoothe out the transition aesthetically.
Mayhaps that gate near where the Giant Bear spawns... Thinking Dangerous Pass primarily because it has mountains with a bit of snow on them in the background.

The original world layout is effed up enough that it can really be anywhere... I actually have three seperate plans of the orignal map layout, and none of them match each other, nor what has actually happened. I'm *trying* to keep some sort of vague corrispondancy to one of the better maps Lanethan gave me, but well...

The OceanCrossing transition (which may never happen) - goes from Deralia to, probably a trading post on the edge of Tundra. If I can figure a way, there maybe a stop inbetween, or way to get to Smuggler's Cove from there as well. (I may rig it, so that you are forced to go there if the raiding orcs kill the ship captain.)

I've the source for MSCAVE - it'd make some sense for it to be there, as in at least two of the world maps I have, it exists from some mountains. There's no good spot in there for a transition save for Shaddarh atm though - and that one also looks as though there's a temple maze on the other side.

...and yeah, it would have to be quite a bit larger - I'm glad you have the tenacity to stick to one map and see it through.

Thats what I have in there now . The morcs I have spawning on a trigger (func_breakable) and they all spawn at location.

That's really odd... Maybe those torches (the holders) need to be func_illusionary and the orcs just don't have quite enough elbow room with them there. I ran into incidents of orcs stuck to walls and one another when I went through it. :\ I did notice one torch is severely detatched from the wall, but I figure you caught that by now.

Make sure you have that new version I uploaded through your site because the bugs you named I have yet to see. Anyhow that hallway, its morcs, and the torches are all deleted right now so it doesnt really matter.

IDEA:

thothie, that shadahar thing in MSCAVE...since it looks like it goes into a temple maze, perhaps there COULD be a temple maze map as a bridge between the main world and this...though, where we would find such a map is a mystery to me at this point...

that way, this could be the "intro point" for all of the ice maps...or at least...one intro point...i'd like multiple ways to get places, it only makes sense ;)

more on the temple thing...MSCAVE -> temple of DOOM!!!! -> a small temple-like structure on ms_snow...placed underground, then a tunnel up to the surface!

..Well... Yeah... I'd like that to connect to Challs and maybe something else as well.

I'm looking at my 'nearly completed' map sources, and I dun see anything appropriate off hand... A ww3 style map would be nice, but Crow's got his hands full, surely.

Come to think of it, that is another thing I should delegate out... I've several kinda almost done map sources for MSC, at least two or three of which have a fair amount of potential, but I'd need to get Lord K's permission to distro them. (Verath2, Bloodrose, and WicardOven, in particular)

One issue I have with these incomplete map sources though, is that I can't figure a way to find what the original wads were in the RMF. Anyone know a way to do that?

I've just completed a large new area, an area in which I will not be sharing details about :p. This is an optional area which will not be accessable unless a certain trigger is triggered. So in the next release of this map be sure to keep your eyes open.

Anime world...I wish...
Just a quick idea, While I was playing WoW i came up with the map idea of the Wetlands. It doesen't have to be exactly like the one from WoW. Although having the stuff like 'The crocalisks' and 'the Leech Stalker Spiders' would be pretty awesome. I have got 0 mapping experince and i was just suggesting an idea.

Ontopic: Im looking foward to these new maps and i know there going to be stunning quality. Well done.

YOU DONT GOT TIME TO MAKE A PROFILE
:?

wetlands doesnt have much too it, it would be a boring map. its a marsh, and its very flat, so it would kill half life anyways. but yes, the monsters would be cool to have.

Uh, no. Boredom and FN being down got me to work on badlands. If anything, sitting behind me doing things with your gf only hindered my progress -.-;;

Since I've been avoiding WoW like the plague - I'd need more info on the monsters.

There is a swamp series of monsters planned, for... Well, swamps and wetlands. Already have models, just need to get around to the scripts - hardcode may knock that out of the picture, unless someone specifically designs a swamp map and really needs em.

I need someone with a level 20+ strong character with the ability to keep secrets to help P and I beta test this map along its road to completion. I have 2 of 3 areas completed but the level and quantities of the monsters make it difficult for just the two of us to get an accurate read on the whole thing. If interested let me know here or with a PM.

I got a client-side test character who may do the job (since FN is down), send me an IM, maybe I'll be around.

BTW - if you add an ms_npc with the scriptfile "tundra/map_startup" - you may get snow weather effects. (not sure if I mentioned that)

Nope, but thanks. I will look into that now.

Also:
Thothie, I have a large cavern section that I would like to fill with challenging monsters. So far hideous cave trolls and lobbers are on the roster, how are those monsters you mentioned previously coming (wooly spider, ice bone, etc.)?
